The film

Something (2026) trailer

Produced by Przewalski's Horse in association with Terra Incognita.

Something was first conceived over 20 years ago as an attempt to transform the autonomous landscape film into a long-form narrative work. Over time, the concept, story, and central figure evolved into their current form.

A woman, about whom we know nothing, appears in a place that is equally unknown. She moves through this landscape having suffered an unspeakable trauma, and has come here, perhaps, to heal - to find herself again. She becomes both a presence within the land and a reflection of it. Through her movement, the film explores humanity's relationship to the spaces it inhabits but does not fully understand.

As with my previous landscape films, the intention is not primarily to explain or define, but to reach toward something more elemental - to reconnect with the emotional current of cinema and with the inner life of the natural world. This is a film to be felt rather than interpreted, and may resonate most with those who recognize something of her condition within themselves.

Help complete this film

A message from writer and director Kyle Faulkner

Production began in Tbilisi, Georgia in March 2025, and is now nearing completion. What remains is the final stage of post-production: sound, colour, and the work required to bring the film fully into the world. This has been a completely independent process, and the available resources have now been exhausted. I am currently raising the final funds required to complete the film, estimated to be a figure between 50,000 - 100,000 USD.

At a time when cinema is increasingly shaped by artificial and industrial processes, I believe it is important to continue supporting work made with real people, in real places, grounded in lived experience and time. This film is intended not as a product or a moment, but as something more enduring - a quiet, personal reflection on the human condition.
